Why Leg Ulcer & Compression Days?
Patients who develop venous leg ulcers face considerable suffering and a reduced quality of life. As a chronic condition, the burden of these wounds can be enormous for patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and the healthcare system. Many patients with leg ulcers do not receive the correct treatment, resulting in delayed healing times, increased risk of complications, and higher treatment costs.
The goal of Urgo Foundation’s Leg Ulcers and Compression program is to support healthcare professionals in improving patient outcomes through the sharing of educational content and best practices. The program has been running for the past 7 years in over 8 countries, including France, the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, and the United States. More than 1 million Euros have been invested in education as of 2023.
